Most website technology scanners read only the surface of a page. Stackoscope goes deeper, resolving tag manager containers to find every vendor tag loaded by GTM, Tealium, or Adobe Launch, even if those tags never appear in the page source.
Built for private equity deal teams, portfolio operators, and MarTech advisors who need a complete picture of a company's data infrastructure before or after an acquisition.
Wappalyzer detects general website technologies including frameworks, CMS platforms, and hosting. Stackoscope is purpose-built for marketing technology. It goes deeper on pixels, tag managers, and CRM signals, and it resolves GTM containers to find tags that never appear in the page source. It also detects vendors from cookies and Content Security Policy headers that surface-level scanners miss entirely.
Yes. When Stackoscope detects a GTM container ID on a page, it fetches and parses the container payload directly. Any tags configured inside GTM, even if they are not firing on the current page, are identified and included in the results. The same applies to Tealium and Adobe Launch containers.
Each detected vendor is rated High, Medium, or Low based on how it was found. High confidence means the vendor was detected from a script URL or cookie, which are hard signals that are unambiguous. Medium means it was found in a response header or tag container. Low means it appeared in raw HTML patterns or a Content Security Policy allowlist, which may indicate configuration without active deployment.
Yes. Stackoscope is a free public tool built by MarTech Advisor. For deeper analysis, including data governance assessment, consent architecture review, and full MarTech due diligence reporting, see our advisory services.
MarTech due diligence is the process of auditing a company's marketing technology stack before or after an acquisition. It identifies compliance risks, data governance gaps, redundant tools, and integration debt. Private equity firms use it to assess the true cost and risk of a target company's data infrastructure. Stackoscope is the first step in that process.
